(EWSETA) is one of 21 Sector Education &
Training Authorities (SETAs) established in South Africa in terms of
the Skills Development Act of 1998.
In accordance with this Act, sector specific bodies (SETAs) have been
set up to encourage skills development through the establishment of a
system of levies and grants, the registration of new learners and the
quality assurance of training providers and assessors.
Who does EWSETA help?
This site has been developed to service the needs of the various EWSETA
stakeholders, namely employers,
learners,

CALL FOR STAKEHOLDER PARTICIPATION IN EWSETA SECTOR SKILLS PLAN UPDATE
EWSETA Sector Skills Plan Annual Update (Working Document)
EWSETA would like to thank all our
stakeholders who participated in our Sector Skills Plan 2011 –
2016 Annual Update. Valuable participation was received through
feedback and primary data obtained at our Provincial Focus
Groups, which we are pleased to announce were very successful in
terms of representation from Municipalities, Water Boards and
other interested stakeholders.
Whilst
we are deeply appreciative to all stakeholders for their
continued commitment in working with the EWSETA towards
achieving our vision of being a leading facilitator of
world-class skills for energy and water,
which is made possible through a
Sector Skills Plan that provides appropriate and crucial
strategic direction for our sector, we are mindful that our
Sector Skills Plan Annual Update is a work in progress and as
such, requires constant review and collaboration.
To this
end, we would like to urge all stakeholders to assist the EWSETA
in further improving and validating the findings of our Sector
Skills Plan Annual Update through the following processes:
1.
Participation in our
On-line SSP Survey
2.
Attendance at our
upcoming EWSETA Annual General Meeting at which the EWSETA SSP
Annual Update will be presented to all stakeholders as part of
our SSP consultative process
The
activities above, together with the data received to date, will
allow EWSETA to complete our SSP Data Collection process, which
will enable our next submission to The Department of Higher
Education and Training in December 2011, to be even more
representative of the skills development realities, landscape
and needs of the energy and water services sector.
