What is a SETA?

The acronym SETA stands for SECTOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING AUTHORITY, meaning that it is the authoritative body on skills development within a certain economic sector.

The SETAs were established in March 2000 in terms of Section 9 of Skills Development Act 97 of 1998.
