Our History
ESETA has been in existence
since year 2000 as the SETA to address the following
sub-sectors: electricity, nuclear, renewable energy and
electrical contracting, and in 2005, its scope was extended to
include water sub-sector.
ESETA has been partnering
with the stakeholders and interest groups within the energy
sector in facilitating the skills development needed in order to
meet the skills demand of the sector.
This is done through the
Labour Market research conducted in terms of our Chapter 4 of
the Sector Skills Plan.
We then analyze the
information gathered and benchmark it with the information
received through the Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training
Reports . The
information is gathered to assist the SETA to facilitate the
development and the implementation of appropriate learning
programs such as ABET programs, skills programs, learnerships
and apprenticeships. |
